"Fields of gold", 80x60cm oil painting
At the end of the day, wandering through nature’s fields, I can hear the grasses whisper. A cricket chirps his music, a gentle breeze blows past me and the golden sun touches my face. The golden sky is as colorful as a diamond. It’s in these moments that I find true harmony and I can lean into nature’s beauty.
"Field of gold" is deeply inspired by walks through natural fields in the French Alpes during a golden hour. At this trip we wandered up mountain trails and sensed the dry lands around us. I could smell the Provencal herbs, mixed with wild lavender. In this painting I used many layers of colors to ‘catch’ the lights and nature’s scents on the canvas. Take a closer look at the details and you can see warm colors shine through the sky and grasses underneath.
While I personally found inspiration from this place, you may find a connection in this work to another place. How wonderful is that; the beauty of art ánd nature, if you ask me 😉!
